Oh it's done. I am so happy. It took over the house this week, and I knew that if I didn't get it under control it would continue to occupy a huge part of my brain as well. I also needed the next post to be THIS ONE. The one where it was all finished and everyone was happy and the house was clean. Let's scratch the first off that last at least.
- Approx 60 by 80 inches. I wanted it a bit bigger, but honestly I ran out of patience.
- Machine quilted
- Hand Bound
- I bought the map fabric (Alexander Henry) and the different circle ones (Quilt Gate) from Cia's in March (I think they are discontinued now). You'll also notice a healthy dose of Denyse Schmidt in there. I just don't get tired of that line for some reason. Especially that Freckles stuff. I love it. The rest are bits and pieces that fit right in.
- The binding fabric was a last minute decision and I think it will grow on me. The back was partially pieced after realizing I had shorted myself on the blue flannel. I was nervous to piece the back as I was sure that it would pull perilously in all directions when i went to quilt it. It did, but I don't care.
I was equally sure that machine quilting it would be a disaster, and even though it it took most of the day, it went okay. My corners are getting better. Next time: perfection. And really, as it took another four hours to get that binding on, I'm just happy it's done. But I mentioned that already. I'm happy.
And so is Paul, I think, who bore the brunt of Sam's attention this weekend. It's hard to be loved that much :)
