This is the view from the kitchen, sitting on the floor, back against the cabinet. There's that skirt/pattern etc. to the right of me waiting to be cut. And in front of me... well, you can see. It's a lot of whatever. We opted for family space over a proper dining room, which is great for the every day but hard during special times when I want to have a proper sitdown meal for guests. I like to cook for other people. I try to think of Paul and Sam as "other people". It's hard.
I get a lot of help when I sew. He usually tries to sit down on me and use the tracing wheel to "cut" out scraps and pattern paper.
Most of my pictures come out something like this.
We didn't have a washer and dryer until Sam was 5 or 6 months old. I'm still so thankful for to have our very own set in the basement. Most people would never know this as there are usually piles of laundry in transit all over the house. Most of it is clean and waiting, BEGGING, to be put away. I don't like that part. Our house is still pretty undone to the casual onlooker. I sleep jammed up against the window in our bed. I don't like sleeping by the door.
Sam spends lots of time with Paul during the evenings that he's home. They've been working on this business for the last month or so.
All in all, we're doin' pretty good.
