I am sewing! I've got a few tops going and I've started plotting bottoms. We'll see. I bought Jalie pattern for tshirts/tank tops that I'm about to get into. I'm expecting it to change my life (is that too dramatic?). There is going to be lots more apparel talk. Also some more quilt talk because I purchased the Proverbial Quilt pattern. We appear to be feeling a bit ambitious.
The Framily celebrated Sam's sixth (6!) birthday this last weekend and before that we celebrated having six kids under our roof with the addition of 3 cousins and and their parents for a few nights. We begged our way into our neighborhood Little League for T-Ball (I had no clue that sign-ups started in January), and as is our custom, all five of us are sick with colds.
Things of Note:
- I am holding the new Stitch in my hands and it's pretty great. I love Blair's projects especially (obv.), but really-- it's full of good stuff and designers you already know and love. Do you see those Cathedral Window Baby Blocks? Yowzers.
- Portland Mom-o-logues is an event organized by my friend Jess to raise money for Bradley Angle House. It's taking place the evening of Saturday, May 8th at the Kenton Firehouse and I'm one of a whole bunch of people who are honored to play a small part. I'll probably wear some heels, so it's going to be a big night. Tickets at the door!
- Have you met Plywerk? They are a local (but online, so everywhere) shop mounting photos and art onto wood (bamboo or maple) panels using a PH neutral adhesive. I bring them up because they are running a Mother's Day sale at the moment which makes perfect sense since these things make pretty perfect gifts. I had a stack of 4 by 6 panels made before Christmas and Paul just had an 8 by 10 done up a few weeks ago, so I can verify their goodness. (If you're local you can skip the shipping charges and pick up your orders in NE. Sweet.)
