I am bringing all the desserts (and rolls) for Thursday, and so I'm going to bring this Butterscotch Cream Pie again. This is the picture from last year, when I made it three times! That Craft book has not steered me wrong-- not once. Since it uses a good amount of egg yolks, obviously I need to make these macaroons to use up the whites. They are fast and awesome. I leave out the almond essence (always) and make them ice cream scoop sized. Maybe I should sub in a roasted almond in the middle Mounds style? I will think on this and report back. They freeze like the very best dream you have ever had. There will also be something cranberry-delicious, but I have not put my finger on it yet. The children have decided they are okay without pumpkin this year. It could still make a last minute appearance.
Have a wonderful week. As you know, I'm not much for holidays, but I am grateful that we are warm, employed and together this year. We are spending time with friends and I think we're going to go ahead and get our Tree On this weekend. I am excited.
