My sisters and I threw a birthday party for my parents this last weekend. We wanted to celebrate a couple of big birthdays, one of which was in May and the other that isn't until January. It is a good thing they have a really, big yard, because it was a really big party.
One of my sisters moved in to the house my grandpa built a few doors away from my parent's house and so it was all cousins all the time, which had my boys FLOATING WITH HAPPINESS. Between my sisters and I there are 10 of them. Just when there are no more babies to coo at, another one comes along.
I took very few pictures. Partially because I broke my 50mm lens (the one I use almost exclusively) and mostly because I was either elbow deep in making food or cleaning it up. I had planned on bringing my film camera and then forgot it on the counter. I hope Sharalee got some good stuff, because there's some food that I think is worth talking about here. Do you need to cook for 150 and don't really know what you're doing? I have some notes for you.
We drove home yesterday and today has been pretty good as of about ten minutes ago, when a week of late nights, treats and non-stop partying, caught up with at least two of them. Paul is upstairs rinsing them off and helping with pajamas (it is 5:52 pm). Does it get a lot easier to make these transitions when they get older? Um, like at what age? Give me some numbers, people.
